Beauty of the Earth extends the garden-peony season in the United States by growing these favorites in Robbinston, Maine, near the Canadian border. Peonies bloom in Beauty of the Earth gardens from late June to mid-July. The full double flowers of white 'Duchess de Nemours' precede those of lusty pink 'Sarah Bernhardt.' Other peony colors and varieties are available in limited quantities. Peonies for the cut flower market are carefully harvested as buds. At this stage, peonies survive out of water for long periods of time, depending on the storage temperature. Beauty of the Earth ships peonies only when delivery is likely the following day.
